News of Prof. Takashi’s death

Dear Colleagues and Friends:

I am sorry to tell you that Prof. Takashi died of lung cancer on Friday, August 30 at 11:43pm.
I expre ss the deepest condolence for the bliss of the dead.

Born in 1939 (74 years old of age at death).

Achievements Prof. Takashi studied experimental mechanics, especially viscoelastic material and photoelasticity.
He made efforts to establish Technical Section on Advanced Technology in Experimental Mechanics JSME-MMD,
and JSEM, and he was the president of JSEM, as a leader of the experimental mechanics in Japan.
Also internationally, he made efforts to found International Conference on Advanced Technology in Experimental Mechanics,
and Asian Committee on Experimental Mechanics (ASEM), and he was active in the field of experimental mechanics as the president of SEM.
